ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL RECEIVE CONSIDERATION ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION Title of Position : BILINGUAL PARENT ENGAGEMENT LIAISON Tilton Elementary Work Year: August – June (10 Months) Effective Date of Employment : 2025-2026 School Year Salary: Up to $40,000.00 Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the Principal, and to the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designee. Statement of Duties: Within assigned school : Translate written documents as needed Make/take phone calls to/from Spanish-speaking families as needed by school personnel Interpret during a variety of school meetings, including: report card conferences, discipline, special education IEP meetings, new student/family orientation meetings, speech and language evaluations, among others Develop and maintain constructive and trusting relationships with families and staff Represent the school professionally and courteously Attend and interpret at school’s Open House and report card afternoons and evenings, among other events Assist in the development of, and attend parent informational workshops District-wide responsibilities : Regularly utilize district Google scheduling calendar for all meetings, appointments, personal days, etc. Interpret at out-of-district IEP/Special Education meetings on a rotating basis with other liaisons Translate district-wide department paperwork on a rotating basis with other liaisons Attend and interpret at minimum 3 district-wide afternoon or evening events throughout the school year, at the request of building principal or any Central Office administrator Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate parent/school needs with regard to attending meetings Work two days in August in Family Resource Center one week prior to the start of school General: 7 hour work day Other responsibilities as assigned by Principal and/or Superintendent This position is jointly supervised and evaluated by Supervising Principal and EL Supervisor

Requirements

  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
  • Relates well to people of all ethnic groups
  • Ability to speak multiple languages preferred
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills
  • Must be trustworthy and dependable
  • Possess an Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Must have excellent verbal and written processing skills.
  • Competent English and Spanish literacy skills.
  • Must have strong written skills in another language.
  • Must have good organization and time management skills.
  • Must have skills necessary to engage and work with others from diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
  • Must be able to relate positively with others, as evidenced by evaluations and/or references.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
