About The Position

CFS Brands is seeking a Bilingual Maintenance Technician I to ensure safe and efficient operations of our plant in Batavia, IL to include facilities, automation, docks mechanisms, and power equipment through internal preventative maintenance, repairs, and vendor managed preventative maintenance programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Up to 2 years of relevant work experience required.
• Must be bilingual English/Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages fluently.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with proficiency in using hand/power tools, and troubleshooting.
• Assists machine operators in solving equipment problems.
• Assists the maintenance leader whenever necessary.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related field is required.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, lock out-tag out programs, HVAC, electrical motors/systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures and perform physical tasks like standing, lifting, and bending.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strict adherence to all CFS Brands safety protocols including, but not limited to, safety absolutes, lock out-tag out, OHSA, hot permit requirements and all fire and security protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance/repairs to building fixtures, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and dock equipment (doors/levelers), power equipment and other items found within the distribution center.
• Conduct daily/weekly inspections of the facility, yard, automation, and dock areas to identify needed repairs/maintenance.
• Act as the liaison for third-party repairs, ensuring vendor work is completed in adherence to all CFS Brands safety standards, on-time and to required specifications.
• Diagnose and repair material handling equipment, conveyor/sortation systems, and other machinery as needed. Some understanding of control logic system and warehouse control systems.
• Use computerized maintenance management systems to record work orders and inventory.
• Comply with all GMP requirements and adhere to all CFS safety policies and procedures.
