About The Position

Requirements

Background in and passion for working with low-income and immigrant communities around issues of affordable housing, land use, and/or immigrant & worker rights; familiarity with these issues in the Mission District and San Francisco, highly desired.
Bilingual in spoken and written Spanish, highly desired

Responsibilities

Assess Literacy Levels: Use various diagnostic tools to evaluate students' reading and writing skills.
Develop Interventions: Create and implement individualized and group literacy interventions tailored to students' needs.
Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate effective literacy strategies into their instruction.
Monitor Progress: Track students' progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure they are meeting literacy goals.
Professional Development: Provide training and support to teachers on best practices in literacy instruction.
Engage Families: Involve families and communities in literacy initiatives to support students' learning at home.
Support Diverse Populations: Address the unique needs of bilingual students and those with special needs.
Other Organizational Duties: Conduct business in accordance with the Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and serving the best interests of the agency and the community.
