Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Pleasant, professional, and articulate phone voice.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle many incoming calls or patients at once.
  • Efficient and accurate data-entry skills.
  • Computer literacy and multi-line phone or switchboard experience.
  • If no experience, the prospective receptionist must be able to learn it quickly.
  • Basic knowledge such as basic math, alphabetical or numerical filing may also be required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome incoming calls with a professional and caring demeanor, directing them appropriately.
  • Conduct client intake and inform the relevant staff of client arrivals.
  • Accurately input patient information into our databases.
  • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator to manage volunteers effectively.
  • Adhere to appointment and cash handling procedures as outlined by management.
  • Maintain a welcoming and orderly clinic lobby environment.
  • Process lab results as directed by the Practice Manager.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program to enhance service quality.
  • Promote a professional and courteous environment, respecting all patients and staff.
  • Work effectively within a team-based primary care medical home setting.
  • Attend safety training programs and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain work areas per Legacy’s standards.
  • Report safety concerns promptly and follow exposure control plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
