About The Position

Help patients enroll in a discount or insurance program so they can get the medical, dental and behavioral care they need.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Attention to detail of critical information to determine patient eligibility and their application.
• Analyze complex data to determine the correct eligible patient programs.
• Strong communication skills - proactively ask for help, etc.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients.
• Experienced with healthcare enrollment including of state and federal programs, eligibility criteria, insurance terminology and coverage types?
• Have you absorbed and analyzed large amounts of data?
• Experienced with electronic health records (EHR), online application portals and basic office software?
• Empathize with patients and let them know you are here to help them?
• Positive and approachable with patients and co-workers?
• Reach out for help when you need it?

Responsibilities

• Talk with patients to explain complex insurance terms and program requirements in a way that's easy to understand.
• Prescreen patients to assess what program they qualify for to ensure they have the necessary documents to start the enrollment process.
• Meet with walk-in and scheduled patients to follow through with the application process.
• Keep detailed records of documents, application and billing information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Add payors to the patient record.
• Prepare reports and submit prior to deadlines.
