The Department of Human Services (DHS) directly touches the lives of thousands of Eagle County residents every year. From helping families and individuals access programs that put food on the table, warm their homes, and find childcare to protecting those too young or too old to protect themselves, DHS is the team that ensures families and individuals in our community have what they need to live stable lives now and in the future. Early Head Start is part of the Eagle County Department of Human Services (ECDHS). ECDHS comprises the following divisions: Children, Family & Adult Services, Economic Services, and Integrated Support Services, each working together to provide exceptional service to our customers. ECDHS is committed to ensuring all ECDHS clients experience a “no wrong door” approach to service delivery. The Early Head Start Home Visitor / Family Advocate works with pregnant women and families with children up to three years of age to enhance the healthy development of children and families. Home Visitors organize, plan and facilitate weekly home visits with families that integrate all Head Start components (areas of health, early childhood education and development, nutrition, family life skills, safety, and mental health). Referring and linking families with other community programs is also an essential component of this position. This position is located in El Jebel and maintains positive working relationships with the EHS contracted child care center(s) serving children in that geographical area, supporting their families by ensuring all EHS center-based program requirements are met.
