About The Position

Yellowstone Club is a private residential community in Big Sky, Montana, offering the world’s only private ski and golf community. Members enjoy fabulous skiing, snowboarding, an 18-hole golf course, rivers, hiking, biking, and more. The club seeks employees who provide the highest level of guest service, ensuring no detail is too small to overlook, and being a part of creating exceptional experiences. The Retail & Rental department is currently seeking candidates for a Bike Technician for the upcoming summer season, with employment dates from May to September. The primary purpose of the Bike Technician is to assemble and maintain the Yellowstone Club’s fleet of rental bikes, as well as Member and guest bikes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
  • One to two years’ experience in customer service
  • 2+ years of experience with outdoor equipment
  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Minimum of 2 years bike mechanic experience
  • Knowledge of current bike components and tools
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
  • Able to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, co-workers, vendors and other Yellowstone Club departments.
  • Able to write clearly and legibly.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to solve basic problems and/or know when it is necessary to get a manager to assist in problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in retail industry
  • Understand ski, snowboard, mountain bike mechanics and components
  • Knowledge of Easy Rent software system

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests always, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our members and guests and assure us that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests always. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding rental shop services.
  • Charge the appropriate Member account for services rendered and rental equipment.
  • Inspect, repair, and service rental and customer bikes.
  • Accurately complete inspection and maintenance forms.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies for rental bikes.
  • Provide assistance to the rental staff for rental equipment fulfillment as well as cleaning and maintenance of all rental equipment.
  • Interface with other departments to meet Member, guest, and prospective Member requests.
  • Answer Member, guest, prospect, and interdepartmental inquiries by telephone, facsimile, email and mail.
  • Keep detailed records of Member preferences and requests.
  • Ensure proper selection, fitting and selling of a variety of winter and summer sports equipment and accessories.
  • Provide a positive atmosphere in the rental shop for Members, guests, and employees.
  • Understand and communicate the rental equipment packages and features to ensure the best match, ensuring all equipment is returned efficiently and properly in the rental system.
  • Repair rental equipment.
  • Provide consistent exceptional customer service.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance and consistency standards.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Treat Members, guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect always.
  • Maintain privacy of our Members at all times.
  • Always maintain a clean and neat appearance.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers and directors.
  • Perform work in a safe and high-quality manner.
  • Project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club to Members and guests always.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Cleans workspaces by cleaning mechanic stations or taking out trash.
