About The Position

We are seeking a Data Science & Analytics Senior Specialist to join our team. The Senior Specialist will collaborate with the Human Health Digital, Data and Analytics area to utilize data for generating actionable insights. These insights aim to enhance customer and market understanding, inform launch brand strategies, support in-line brand growth objectives, and improve customer engagement. The role involves facilitating the creation of commercial use-cases that support data-driven decisions, leveraging knowledge across the organization to be more relevant to the customer. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a thorough understanding of healthcare and technology, and a proven track record of generating actionable insights from analytics. They must demonstrate the ability to work objectively, manage ambiguity effectively, and exhibit strong partnership skills. This position necessitates interfacing and collaborating with multiple teams, requiring exceptional communication abilities. Successful candidates in this role are motivated to understand pharma secondary data sources and can translate objectives and business questions into analytical problems, delivering scalable, actionable insights.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience delivering complex analytical projects in the pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare industry
  • Knowledge in developing both machine learning and descriptive algorithms/modeling using such languages as Python, R studio, SAS, SQL etc.
  • Self-motived, proactive mindset, and ability to work independently
  • Proven data science leveraging advanced statistical methods, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP) modeling and model evaluation is a plus.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, along with the ability to convey appropriately and confidently with colleagues from different backgrounds and seniority levels
  • Effective organizational and project management skills to work effectively across organization and manage capability of team of data scientists efficiently and effectively
  • Proven data science leveraging advanced statistical methods, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP) modeling and model evaluation is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hands-on experience working with healthcare data especially in EMR/EHR, Claims Data, HUB/SP and various IQVIA/KOMODO data offerings
  • MBA, MS or PhD degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the internal stakeholder business needs and priorities to build analyses that promote business objectives by providing actionable insights.
  • Analyze data using advanced analytical/statistical techniques across disparate databases/sources (including claims/EMR Data and other sources) to develop insights drive to inform the commercial business strategies.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, timely, compliant analyses with excellent user experience (keep clients updated on progress).
  • Collaborate across HHDDA teams (i.e. data visualization, data solutions, other data scientists, other BIA teams, etc.) to deliver best-in-class solutions to drive data driven insights often acting in consulting capacity.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in analytical methodologies to bring new ideas forward that will enhance analytic capabilities of the organization.
  • Contribute to innovative experiments, specifically to idea generation, idea incubation and/or experimentation, identifying tangible and measurable criteria
  • Effectively communicate and influence stakeholders positively.
