About The Position

🌟 Now Hiring: Full-Time (BI-LINGUAL) Life Skills Instructor to provide one on one assistance to a Spanish-speaking member within our programs. 📍 Cranford, NJ | 🕗 Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM Are you passionate about helping individuals with disabilities build skills, confidence, and community connections? Community Access Unlimited (CAU) is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Instructor to support members of our Day Program in reaching their goals for independence and personal growth. 🧭 General Description As a Life Skills Instructor, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting adults with disabilities through meaningful daily activities, work training, and community-based experiences — all while ensuring their safety, well-being, and inclusion.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• A background in education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
• Preference given to candidates with prior experience in employment services and/or providing direct support.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable car for work purposes.
• Willingness to attend mandatory paid orientation and ongoing training. Training schedules are flexible and are offered during day and evening hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
• Ensure members’ health, safety, and medication administration
• Train and assist with daily life skills
• Encourage and support community participation and plan activities in the community
• Maintain appropriate staff-member relationships
• Keep records sharp and updated in Carelogic (our Electronic Health Record)
• Know your way around Microsoft Office
