Requirements

  • Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
  • Current BLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of 2 years acute care experience in Behavioral Health.
  • Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience

Responsibilities

  • The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support, coordinating the needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during and after the orientation period.
  • The Transition to Practice Educator will serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate a timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in live time.
  • Once needs are identified, targeted knowledge and skill deficits can be addressed through the coordination of available resources.
  • Addressing the specific needs of each new nurse will ensure their role development success as well as enhance patient outcomes.

  • A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $83,200.00 to $103,646.40 on an annualized basis.
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
