BGS Engineering Sr. Skill Leader Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Global Services (BGS) has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Sr. Skill Leader. This position is part of the BGS Core Engineering Skills Leadership and Global Talent team, responsible for developing business unit strategies to assess, attract, acquire, develop, and retain top engineering talent to support our customers. The successful candidate will lead in the development and execution of strategies by working with senior and executive cross-functional leaders in Global Talent Acquisition (GTA), Human Resources (HR), Finance, Program Management, and Engineering. They will be responsible for one or more engineering skill areas to optimize our workforce in that area through staffing, retention, mentoring, training, and knowledge management initiatives. In addition, they will work with enterprise teams to help shape and influence standards and policies related to enterprise level skill management. Skill assignment will be one or more engineering job families including but not limited to 6C, 6D, 6G, 6K, and 6L depending on background. Position Responsibilities: Manages skill team activities as the functional skill-team leader for multiple SJC/SMCs in the SPEEA contract. This includes ensuring BGS Engineering has the right team through intentional talent management, recruiting, promotions. Partner closely with Functional Chief Engineer’s office to define and integrate BGS Engineering requirements. Drive initiatives & deployment from FCE office to upskill and retain BGS Engineering employees. Provide solutions and recommendations by interpreting, analyzing, and integrating applicable internal and external data and metrics Develop and leverage key strategic relationships to participate in short-term and long-term business planning Work with other workforce strategy and skill leaders to implement and develop consistent processes and mechanisms for prioritizing work and deploying employees for short-term staffing surges Partner with Global Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Finance, and Program Focals to optimize staffing and prioritize needs to ensure we have the right talent, at the right place, at the right time Foster a culture that supports diversity and inclusion Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, peers, partners across the enterprise Ability to think critically, problem solve and comfortable working through ambiguity as required Skill Leader role includes defining business unit strategies for skill management including staffing and retention, talent management including mentoring and training, and knowledge management Writing workforce management policies and processes
