About The Position

Valiant is looking for a BFE Maintenance Cell Lead to join our team! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Executes a variety of realistic Battlefield Effects without assistance using simulators, training devices and pyrotechnics in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Operates and maintains all Government Furnished Equipment and Vehicles to prescribed standards, to include ATV’s, during both daylight hours and during periods of limited visibility, under all weather conditions and in a wide variety of terrain. Ensure that vehicle required maintenance is conducted and proper paperwork is completed for turn in and pick up of vehicles from Valiant maintenance. Complete all vehicle mileage reports. Ensure all Battlefield Effects vehicles are ready to meet rotational needs. Assists BFE Branch management in ensuring Branch-wide compliance with all applicable corporate and local regulations, policies, and procedures. Provides direct supervision of three or more employees in the execution of specified Performance Work Statement tasks. Assists BFE Branch management by performing instructor duties for other employees.  Coordinates and assists in supervising execution of all work-related elements for employees designated to mission support. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Applicants must successfully complete a SF 85 National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), which is necessary to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to government computer systems.
  • Candidates will have at least three years of experience as a Fire Marker at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) or possess comparable experience.
  • Candidates must have either a formal certification in vehicle maintenance or demonstrated experience in a maintenance leadership role.
  • Alternatively, extensive hands-on expertise troubleshooting a diverse range of vehicles—including UTVs, ATVs, pickup trucks, trailers, and smoke generators—will be considered.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials and Air Brakes endorsements.
  • Obtain certification in Ammo 45, Ammo 62, and Ammo 67 courses.
  • The role includes performing other duties as assigned, consistent with mission requirements and occupational specialty.
  • Availability for all scheduled pyrotechnic draw, turn-in, and recovery operations is mandatory.
  • Must be able to travel unaccompanied throughout the continental US.
  • Must be in good physical condition; capable of cross-country movement over varied terrain for a distance of 2 KM in 20 minutes while carrying a 20-pound pack, must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of military land navigation and radio procedures.
  • Required to submit to and pass initial drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • In addition to meeting all required qualifications, preferred applicants should already possess a Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Air Brakes endorsements, and hold current certifications in Ammo 45, Ammo 62, Ammo 67.
  • Completion of the SF 85 NACI process and availability for all pyrotechnic-related operations are also expected.
  • Flexibility to perform additional duties in support of mission objectives is essential.
