About The Position

The Beverage Server is responsible for providing AAA 4-Diamond customer service while serving food and beverages to guests and the service team. The server is expected to exemplify the duties of a server, handle tendering transactions accurately and efficiently and consistently completing the steps of service according to department standards, all while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One (1) year of prior experience preferred.
  • Must have cash-handling experience.
  • Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, Team Members, and management in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and mature decision-making.
  • Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures as well as all Beyond the Best practices.
  • Must be able to handle a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to follow proper transaction and settlement guidelines in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain accurate cash handling and blind drop procedures when using a cash bank in accordance with department policies.
  • Have complete knowledge of all cocktails, wines, and beers served by Gun Lake Casino Resort, as well as proper glassware, pricing, and garnishes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment while maintaining proper portion control, safety, health, and service standards.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in on-going training.
  • Must be able to obtain a Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card. Must keep all required cards on you during your shift.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with Alcohol Awareness training.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license with the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Ability to read, write, and input data into the computer.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
  • Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.
  • Ability to sit and work on a computer station for a long period of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push up to 250 pounds on a push cart and enter walk-ins of between -10 to 40 degrees without assistance.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of their shifts

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, ensuring positive guest interactions by always demonstrating Gun Lake Casino Resort’s AAA 4-Diamond service standards.
  • Follow the 7 Steps of Service as outlined by the F&B department to ensure guest satisfaction and consistently high secret-shop scores.
  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort’s Unsurpassed Service Standards at all times.
  • Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.
  • Must hold or obtain a TIPS alcohol training certification card. Must be able to produce TIPS certification card at any time while on shift.
  • Behave in a positive, professional manner that reflects “Beyond the Best” practices.
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so. Comply with the Board of Health Standards.
  • Maintain “Beyond the Best” personal grooming and uniform standards.
  • Know where the MSDS booklet is located for your area.
  • Must have knowledge of casino safety procedures and emergency evacuation procedures for the guests and team members.
  • Inform the manager on duty of any Team Member or guest opportunities.
  • Be familiar with cocktails and prices in order to fill any request for service. Must carry receipt for every guest and offer it when collecting cash for payment.
  • Complete assigned side-work and any additional task with a “Beyond the Best” manner of teamwork.
  • Continuously observe and anticipate guests’ wants and needs in order to fill any and all guest opportunities.
  • Maintain a minimum a 15-minute round time for the entire assigned section; this also includes a covered section where a Team Member is on break.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked service station including but not limited to all glassware, condiments, coffee, and dry goods.
  • Must retrieve glassware, including but not limited to beverage glasses, bottles, and ash trays from the Casino and other assigned areas.
  • Must carry a minimum of 3 bottles of water and 3 different soda choices to better service our guests for each round, unless a full tray of ordered drinks exists.
  • All other duties as assigned.
