Johanna Foods is also a leading private label and co-pack juice and yogurt producer, manufacturing products for numerous leading retailers and brands. Job Summary: Beverage Group Accountant has responsibility for closing procedures for Beverage manufacturing divisions of Johanna Foods. Responsibilities include recording cost inputs, inventory worksheets, purchases and receiving as part of month end inventory/inventory controls. Deeply involved in the manufacturing process and costing of finished products, the role partners with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to report KPIs on yield, inventory and costs in weekly and monthly closing schedules.

Requirements

  • Degree Accounting or Finance, two year college degree required, 4 yr preferred.
  • Three years of experience in Accounting & Finance
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness and desire to deep dive into the detail, desire to be a part of the process, not just report on it
  • Must be flexible and willing to pitch in as needed.
  • Must possess positive, "can do" attitude.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing a plus but not required, desire to learn is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, analyze and reconcile inventory records including purchases, usage, and variances for finished goods and raw and packaging materials.
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly operations reports for management - gain/loss schedule, weeks of inventory, manufacturing costs, productivity, and analysis of major COGS components.
  • Preparation of monthly closing journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate intercompany distribution of charges and maintain intercompany account reconciliation
  • Be present for and ensure accuracy of month end inventory counts
  • Analysis of production overhead expense identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain a rapport with various levels of management in manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Stay current with changes in plant facilities and operations.
  • Attend manufacturing meetings.
  • Provide timely and accurate product costing options for new and reformulated products
  • Transform and manage joint supply chain and finance receiving logs for Beverage Division
  • Continuously look for ways to improve quality and productivity.
