About The Position

TPC Harding Park, located in San Francisco, CA, offers two impressive golf courses and an award-winning restaurant, all open to the public. TPC Harding Park has a storied history as a frequent PGA TOUR stop and hosted the 2020 PGA Championship. The Beverage Cart Attendant is responsible for ensuring that all guests/members receive immediate attention and that their food and beverage orders are served promptly and courteously.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service operational procedures as would normally be acquired through at least 6 months previous similar experience.
  • Be 18 years old.
  • Possess a current, active driver’s license with no current moving violations.
  • Understand and comply with state and local liquor laws as they relate to serving liquor.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all members and guests by name whenever possible.
  • Utilize starting reservation sheets and bag tags, as necessary.
  • Ensure that the beverage cart is properly inventoried at the beginning and ending of every shift.
  • Advise supervisor of any member/guest complaints so they can be immediately and professionally resolved.
  • Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by the Food & Beverage Service Manager or Food & Beverage Director.
  • Participate in the continuous cleaning and upkeep of the beverage carts and beverage cart storage areas. Duties include removing trash and breaking down boxes.
  • Serve only food and beverage items that meet beverage cart specifications and standards.
  • Maintain responsibility for all beverage cart customer checks issued and immediately notify Food and Beverage Supervisor of any walk-outs.
  • Prepare and serve beer, wine and cocktails according to specifications prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that service procedures are adhered to as outlined in the TPC Brand Standards.
  • Keep all stock prepared and ready for use on each shift, including condiments and garnishes.
  • Handle and count cash, make accurate change and record credit cards and member charges from guests, as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of operating guidelines as it relates to R.A.M. or T.I.P.S. programs, as well as operating within all State and Federal Laws, rules and regulations relating to Alcohol, Cigarette and Tobacco Division.
  • Operate cart on cart paths avoiding at risk areas as noted on course hazard analysis.
  • Notify supervisor of any additional hazards so they may be dealt with promptly.
  • Maintain accountability of cash tips ensuring there be no commingling with any cash bank.
  • Complete requisition forms for all supplies.
  • Serve food and beverages professionally and courteously.
  • Handle problems that might arise courteously and professionally.
  • Verify the accuracy of prices, State and Federal taxes, tips, and other charges on all customer checks and accurately operate the Point of Sale system per the Operating Procedures Manual.
  • Maintain responsibility for food and beverage par-stock inventory controls in the beverage cart.
  • Maintain responsibility for food and beverage sales, expenses, and profit goals as outlined in the food and beverage operating plan/budget.
  • Operate beverage cart in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Complete operating and safety checklist and exception checklists for the beverage cart prior to the start of assigned shift.
  • Be 18 years old and possess a current, active driver’s license with no current moving violations.
  • Responsible for rotation of inventory to ensure freshness and quality of products being served. I.e. out of date chips, sandwiches, beer.
  • Report any/all potential mechanical problems to Supervisor.
  • Keep track of pace of play and notify golf shop and/or course advisors of slow-moving groups.
  • Understand and comply with state and local liquor laws as they relate to serving liquor.
  • Inform Director of Food & Beverage and/or general manager of any member/guest who may be intoxicated. Any member/guest who is clearly intoxicated is NOT to be served.
  • Answer any questions regarding menu and/or menu offerings in a prompt, professional manner.
  • Answer any questions regarding club services, club activities, course conditions, pace of play, marketing (Food and Beverage and otherwise) inquiries and other general questions regarding the facility.
  • Redirect inquiries as needed and provide prompt replies to forwarded questions.
  • Verify the accuracy of all charges (member and otherwise) to ensure proper posting to accounts. This may include verifying member numbers, names and/or signatures as well as include obtaining authorization codes on any credit card charges.
  • Operate within established guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as set by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc.
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.
