About The Position

Plan, implement, and maintain bereavement program that supports the families/caregivers of the deceased for up to one year after the patients death

Requirements

  • Ordained, commissioned, or credentialed according to the practices of an organized religious group
  • Has a degree in theology from a seminary
  • Comfortable in an interfaith setting
  • Drivers license in Virginia
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Bereavement assessment is done within 5 days of admission as part of the comprehensive assessment
  • Provide support to hospice personnel coping with work related grief
  • Provide education to the IDG regarding bereavement issues
  • Provide referral to community resources and professional services when deemed necessary
