About The Position

The Benefits Team Lead will work within the El Paso ISD Service Center but will be an employee of First Financial Group of America. As a key member of the benefits team the position will be leading and supervising assigned employer group’s benefits assistants with billing implementation of group benefit administration with multiple lines of coverage. The role administers and manages employer group leave programs, including updating and improving systems/processes. It involves researching questions from client human resources department and employees about leave policies, and providing oversight and assistance to ensure that employer group leave requests are collected, recorded and processed within assigned deadlines. Additionally, the position will perform other administrative duties as assigned by EPISD - HR.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or 10 years of experience with Human Resources, Benefits and Leave Administration.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish required
  • Three (3) years of benefit administration and leave administration including FMLA and LOAs
  • Five (5) years of customer service or insurance billing or 3rd party billing reconciliation
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Must have Life & Health Insurance License (or obtain within 6 months)
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), and Adobe
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to large groups and executives

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the leadership and supervision of onsite benefits assistants assigned to employer group including coaching, training, performance and collaborating on annual reviews.
  • Assist EPISD - HR with all aspects of the benefits enrollment process for new hires throughout the year
  • Assist with FMLA and Leave of Absence processing
  • Present information on leave options during new hire orientation
  • Monitor the preparation, printing, and maintenance of supplies for insurance information such as plan documents, benefits booklets, annual enrollment packets, etc.
  • Provide assistance in a variety of methods (through meetings, over the phone, via email and other forms of communication) to employees with any benefits-related questions
  • Access and maintain confidential information
