About The Position

The Benefits Communications Professional primarily develops and executes clear, engaging, and effective communications that help employees understand and fully utilize their healthcare and benefits programs. This role develops clear, timely internal and external communications with a focus on Benefits topics for UPS employees and their families. This position develops easy to understand, employee-focused messaging that drives engagement, informed decision making and overall program success. In addition, the Benefits Communications Professional supports the development of healthcare benefits communication strategy and the ongoing management of fulfillment programs. The role serves as a project manager on select initiatives, collaborates closely with Benefits, HR, Communications teams and external vendors, and helps ensure benefits communication programs are operating as intended and meeting business objectives.

Requirements

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience
  • Must be located in the same geographical location as the job or be willing to self-relocate to the area
  • Must be willing and available to report to the UPS Corporate Office in Atlanta on a daily basis
  • Must be willing and available to travel as necessary
  • Demonstrates foundational understanding of healthcare benefits concepts, including medical plans, pharmacy benefits, and compliance
  • Possesses experience managing vendor relationships, holding vendors accountable to agreed objectives, monitoring performance and negotiating services
  • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Possesses experience editing documents and using editing software
  • Possesses prior experience managing multiple projects at once and coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Maintains strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

  • Possesses experience working with large, complex benefit programs and managing program communications
  • Displays familiarity with open enrollment tools, benefits administration platforms, and employee engagement metrics
  • Demonstrates experience editing and creating print-ready employee communications

Responsibilities

  • Creates and coordinates with vendors on benefits communication campaigns, including timelines, messaging, and delivery strategies
  • Manages Fulfillment Vendor including managing inventory, ensuring employee kits are accurate and up to date, reviewing regular reports, performing audits and evaluating most cost-effective communications strategies
  • Drafts, edits, and produces benefits communications across multiple channels (email, intranet, print materials, webinars, videos, FAQs, job aids, and presentations)
  • Ensures communications are accurate, compliant, and aligned with company branding and legal requirements
  • Evaluates engagement and feedback, identifying what works and recommends improvements
  • Supports implementation of new benefits programs, vendor changes, or regulatory requirements through targeted communication plans
  • Maintains and updates benefits content on internal platforms (intranet, benefits portal, knowledge base)
  • Provides communication support for benefit‑related initiatives such as wellness campaigns, preventive care education, and other programs and resources
