About The Position

The Benefits Specialist provides comprehensive support for the administration of team member benefits, leave programs, and workers' compensation. This role manages a high volume of team member inquiries, processes FMLA paperwork, evaluates life event documentation, coordinates PTO donations, maintains content in organizational systems, and assists with benefits billing.

Requirements

  • 2 years previous experience in benefits administration, leave management, human resources support, customer service, or related area.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field, required.
  • Four years of related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide elevated, solution focused customer service to team members seeking assistance with benefits, leave, and workers’ compensation through phone, email, and in person interactions.
  • Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze issues, identify root causes, troubleshoot complex situations, and determine when matters require escalation to leadership.
  • Guides team members through benefits processes and next steps to support a seamless and positive experience.
  • Process initial FMLA requests, including preparing and sending required paperwork to team members.
  • Maintains and update benefits and leave related content within the CONNECT platform.
  • Manages the PTO donation process, including tracking submissions and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Reviews and evaluates life events change requests and documentation to determine eligibility and ensure compliance with plan rules.
  • Provides back-up support for benefits billing processes as needed.
  • Monitors and acts on benefit related notifications within Oracle, ensuring accurate system updates.
  • Maintains confidential team members’ data in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist with ongoing improvements to processes, communication materials, and documentation.
  • Support all efforts related to open enrollment on an annual basis.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
  • May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
