About The Position

The Benefits Specialist provides assistance and support for the day-to-day functions in benefits administration, projects, and processes. Position reports to the Director, Global Benefits and works closely with other members of the Benefits team. This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or related experience
  • 4+ years experience working with US benefits plans
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Workday preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, passion for quality work, and timely delivery
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive data appropriately
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), PTO, and leave of absence
  • Assist associates with enrollment, eligibility, and general inquiries through the Benefits Hotline and email account
  • Assist associates with general HR inquiries coming into the HR Inbox
  • Manage short-term disability and FMLA leaves of absence in the US, interacting with third-party administrator, internal partners (Payroll, HRBPs)
  • Meet one-on-one with associates regarding upcoming leave of absence
  • Support medical TPA eligibility file discrepancies (weekly)
  • Assist with benefits survey data compilation
  • Assist with voluntary Global Home Office exit communication and processing
  • Support the administration of Open Enrollment, including system testing and communications
  • Assist with ongoing activity related to the qualified savings plan (401k), including annual audit, weekly data discrepancies, non-discrimination testing, and ongoing plan operations
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned
