Position Overview: Reporting to the US Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist supports the US Benefits Team through data analysis, vendor coordination, and administration of health & welfare programs. This role focuses on claims analytics, data integrity, governance, and compliance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with benefits data, claims files, and strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience and/or training in US Benefits and / or Financial / Data Analysis or Statistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to define and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently efficiently.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in Employee Benefits, Human Resources Management or Actuarial Society preferred. (CEBS, SHRM, PHR, ASA, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze medical, pharmacy, dental, disability, and other vendor claims data to identify cost trends, utilization patterns, and billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare regular dashboards and reports for HR leadership, Finance, and Benefits management using data warehouse.
  • Support annual benefits strategy planning by providing quantitative insights and modeling scenarios.
  • Validate data for Actuarial Partners, Brokers, and Internal Stakeholders.
  • Support monthly financial reconciliation and charge back to divisions.
  • Support ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other compliance activities through data validation and documentation.
  • Contribute to plan audits, non-discrimination testing, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain accurate plan documents, SOPs, and compliance records.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to local HR Teams regarding benefits policies, eligibility rules, and processes.
  • Assist HR Partners with escalated questions requiring analytical or technical review.
  • Deliver education or training to HR Teams on new processes, systems, or plan updates.
  • Participate in special projects for the Total Rewards Team as needed.
