About The Position

Alcott HR is hiring a Benefits Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in benefits operations and employee benefits plans, supporting our clients and their employees. You'll deliver exceptional customer service by resolving claim inquiries, providing benefits education and ensuring the effective administration of benefit plans. Here's what you'll do: Ensure exceptional customer service by counseling clients and employees on benefit issues, providing benefits education, and supporting plan administration via phone, email and in person. Conduct on site and virtual new client meetings and open enrollment meetings, as needed Maintain all administrative functions as they relate to the benefits team day-to-day tasks and annual open enrollment Create and process daily and weekly EDI and Funding Files to carriers and vendors Research and resolve carrier billing discrepancies, collaborating with internal team members and external partners Conduct on site new client benefits implementation, as needed Support the implementation of benefits-related projects and process improvements Preparation of ACA reporting while ensuring compliance with federal regulations Stay current with changes in benefits and related legislation. (HIPAA, Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA)

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in HR/employee benefits administration preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School Diploma with equivalent work experience considered
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of client service and support.
  • Proficient in Technology including Microsoft Office and HRIS Systems
