About The Position

The Benefits Specialist will support all activities related to the design, implementation, and administration of the International SOS benefits programs in the Americas Region. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Partnering with benefits administration vendor to administer the health & welfare employee benefit programs with regards to open enrollment and customer service. Managing the administration of the company’s leave programs. Serve as primary contact for leave management partner. Regularly auditing 401k plan to ensure proper administration. Responsible for timely completion and submission of required reports, such as annual Form 5500. Provide information to consultants and auditors for testing and preparation of reports. Assisting in the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of company-wide total well-being initiatives. Maintaining knowledge of and analyze government regulations, compensation and benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations. Ensuring compliance of benefits administration with federal and state laws, including IRS and Department of Labor regulations. Coordinating communication of benefits information to all audiences. Coordinating HRIS activities relating to benefits and vendor interfaces. Serve as first point of contact for troubleshooting any issues that arise. Running basic reports/queries for benefit research

Requirements

  • Expertise with practical application of benefit plans and applicable federal and state laws and regulations e.g., ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125, FMLA, Section 401K, ERISA.
  • Experience with ADP software applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to run basic HRIS reports in various HRIS tools

  • Five or more years experience in benefits administration.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, from an accredited college or university required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with non-U.S. benefit plans, especially Canada and Latin America, strongly preferred.
  • CCB or CEBS designation a plus.
