About The Position

This position provides day-to-day expertise, education, and administration for all organization benefit plans and the leave of absence process. Liaison with internal and external stakeholders specific to benefits and leaves. Ensures timely execution of all programs in compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Solid working knowledge of benefit plans, HIPPA, FMLA, ADAAA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, retirement regulations and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of benefits and/or leaves processing experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for responsibilities
  • Superior organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and respond quickly and professionally to employee requests
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for associate benefit and leave related questions.
  • Responds to a large volume of phone calls and emails regarding benefits and leaves.
  • Assists employees in understanding the organization's benefit offerings and acts as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefit providers.
  • Supports the leave of absence and family medical leave of absence process.
  • Counsels associates on leave of absences policies and procedures.
  • Prepares notifications to associates based on regulatory guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintains LOA files and ensures that all required documentation is obtained.
  • Assists with managing the day-to-day benefit plan administration (Medical, Dental, Vision, Pharmacy, 401k, Long Term/Short Term Disability, Life Insurance, Critical Illness, Accident, Legal Insurance, Home/Auto, and Grandfathered plans).
  • Reviews and approves benefit enrollments; follows up on missing items.
  • Processes coverage cancellations and coverage changes utilizing the organization's benefit administration system.
  • Assists with monitoring of benefit vendor file feeds for accuracy; makes recommendations to improve efficiency and accuracy of data.
  • Assists associates with Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims including obtaining necessary documentation, communicating with vendors, and following up on release dates.
  • Updates Payroll software with benefit deductions and Leave of Absences status.
  • Supports annual Open Enrollment and other enrollment sessions (i.e. new hire, life event).
  • Supports audits of plan contributions, payroll deductions, eligibility, vesting and census data.
  • Assists in maintaining compliance with all organization policies and procedures, as well as relevant benefits law, such as HIPPA, FMLA, ADAAA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, retirement regulations and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Assists in special projects and performs other duties as required.
