About The Position

The Benefits & Leave Coordinator is responsible for administering and supporting employee benefits and leave-of-absence (LOA) programs. This role serves as a frontline resource for employees, ensuring accurate, compliant, and responsive support across benefits enrollment, leave case management, and related systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience, strong compliance awareness, and the ability to quickly adapt with minimal training.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of direct experience in benefits administration and/or leave of absence management.
  • Hands-on experience administering FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and related leave programs.
  • Experience working in HRIS and benefits/leave platforms such as Workday, ADP, Sedgwick, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements, timelines, and documentation standards.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
  • The candidate should be local to the Bay Area footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs including new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment support, and Evidence of Insurability (EOI).
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and partner with vendors to resolve issues as needed.
  • Manage leave-of-absence cases from intake through return-to-work, ensuring compliance with FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Communicate directly with employees throughout the leave process regarding timelines, documentation, and status updates.
  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS and benefits/leave systems; ensure data integrity and timely documentation.
  • Support People Operations and Business Partners with reporting, audits, and process improvements related to benefits and leave.
