About The Position
Comunilife Inc. is seeking a Benefits and Entitlement Specialist for its Bronx Residence, La Central. This role is crucial for ensuring clients acquire and maintain necessary entitlements such as Public Assistance, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Social Security Supplement Income/Disability Insurance, and Veteran’s Benefits. The position offers Comunilife's generous benefits and paid time off package, with a salary up to $55,000 a year. The program operates across Bronx and Brooklyn boroughs, requiring travel between these locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Education or a related area
- Two (2) years’ work experience in benefits and entitlements with extensive knowledge of community resources
Nice To Haves
- Experience with HIV/AIDS afflicted individuals, chronic mental illness, substance abuse individuals and their families a plus
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus
Responsibilities
- Conduct needs assessments
- Schedule appointments
- Assist clients in acquiring and locating necessary documentation
- Accompany clients on appointments, providing advocacy and referrals, and assisting clients through the application process
- Work collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, client-centered services are delivered and documented
