Under the direction of the Benefits Education Manager, the Benefits Education Instructor develops and delivers TRS member benefit education programs for internal staff. The position will reach staff through various communication channels including in person or virtual classroom training, online webinars, presentations, huddle updates, written materials, etc. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective planning, and the ability to clearly articulate TRS’s mission and statutory and operational requirements related to member benefits. Effective communication skills and attention to detail are required to educate TRS staff on complex subjects. The incumbent must possess an understanding of the Pension Code, Administrative Rules, the Member Guide and TRS rules and procedures. Coaching employees, addressing inquiries, and giving constructive feedback is a key role in developing Member Services employees. The incumbent must maintain a continuous awareness of pension legislation and stay current on training and development trends and best practices. The incumbent will use their knowledge to analyze and facilitate training on developing issues, trends, and best practices.
