About The Position

Prepare new student drivers for successful licensure through classroom and on-the-road instruction consistent with Kansas DMV requirements and standards in order to prepare student drivers for successful licensure. The Driver Education Instructor will prepare and deliver a classroom instructional program for students, plus 6 hours of driving lessons with each student.

Requirements

  • Holds a valid Kansas Teaching Certificate with endorsement in driver education. OR If applicant does not currently hold a driver education teaching endorsement, they must be willing to obtain a Commercial Certification of Verification which consists of 30 hours of classroom shadowing and 24 hours of behind-the-wheel shadowing (both provided by JCCC).
  • No license suspensions, DUI, DWI or Chemical Test failures or similar citations within the past 3-years
  • Able to complete annually background check with acceptable MVR background check.
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 3 years and no suspended violations in the last 3 years.
  • To be considered for this position we will require an application, resume, and cover letter.
  • Unofficial transcripts are required for all Adjunct faculty and Faculty positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two-years of teaching experience.
  • One year as a Driver Education instructor and experience teaching.
