About The Position

Our client, a leading organization in the employee benefits space, is seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant to serve as a strategic advisor to their clients. This individual will manage relationships with both client contacts and carrier representatives, providing expert guidance on medical, life, disability, and other benefit plans. The role requires a seasoned professional capable of leading complex accounts and mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in health and welfare consulting.
  • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required.
  • Deep knowledge of carrier products, industry trends, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client needs.

Nice To Haves

  • GBA or CEBS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of employer-sponsored benefits programs.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans tailored to client needs, including financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Negotiate terms, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and vendors.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Health & Welfare Benefits and vendor/carrier offerings.
  • Maintain project timelines and delegate tasks to junior team members as needed.
  • Advise on alternative funding strategies and assess their viability for specific clients.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with plan documents and regulatory guidelines (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, etc.).
  • Oversee open enrollment processes and review client-facing materials.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, reviewing their work and supporting skill development.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
