An Associate’s degree combined with significant relevant coursework or equivalent professional experience may be considered. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of technical experience in the administration of comprehensive employee benefits programs, with a demonstrated focus on medical insurance and retirement plan management. Equivalency: Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Responsibilities

  • Administer the agency’s benefits programs, including retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers, vendors, and carriers to manage the agency's enrollment, renewal, and distribution processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure policies, procedures, and benefits programs are consistently administered by interpreting plan requirements.
  • Provide specialized support to staff regarding benefits programs and escalate complex inquiries as necessary.
  • Research and analyze benefits plans to implement programs that represent the best value and strategic fit for the agency.
  • Perform complex data analysis to audit benefits programs and recommend cost-reduction or containment strategies.
  • Draft and distribute communications to staff regarding benefit programs, procedures, claims, and government-mandated disclosures.
  • Prepare informational materials, presentations, and reports for agency staff, management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Monitor legislative trends and regulations to ensure programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with state and federal laws.
  • Propose efficient programmatic changes and manage the dedicated wellness budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Produce clear and concise reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Maintain organized, accurate records and files in accordance with compliance standards.
  • Synthesize data to prepare periodic and special reports related to the benefits function.
  • Manage and sustain the agency’s health and wellness initiatives.
  • Evaluate initiative outcomes and provide data-driven recommendations for future wellness programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
