About The Position

Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Manager, Benefits Operations, the Benefits Analyst plays a key role in benefits reconciliations, reporting and analytics, process improvements, system testing, and ensuring benefits compliance. This position supports the resolution of employee benefit inquiries and claims, and is actively involved with the operation of the HRIS as it relates to benefits, reporting, and system processes. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and understand the flow of employee benefits data, developing internal procedures to streamline processes and increase efficiency. Actively participate in the design, testing, and implementation of the benefits enrollment system, Open Enrollment process, and benefits Self-Service features. Develop functional test scripts to ensure system functionality and data accuracy. Support testing of the HRIS benefits module to ensure accurate benefit reporting and meet ad-hoc data requirements. Develop an understanding of Life Events and the benefits enrollment process. Analyze and merge data files using VLOOKUP's and pivot tables; create interface files and collaborate with Business Analysts and benefit vendors to address escalated system issues. Reconcile, approve, and ensure timely and accurate payment of all benefits billing invoices. Work closely with Finance, Accounting, and Payroll departments to research discrepancies between enrollment and deductions. Participate in accounting audits related to benefits, ensuring timely payments. Review, research, and resolve errors in reports generated by benefit vendors. Assist in developing and implementing new processes and procedures; update benefits forms, templates, and policies as needed. Oversee employee enrollment processes, including annual Open Enrollment and new hire benefits enrollment. Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries, develop effective solutions, and determine the best course of action to resolve customer service issues. Contribute to or lead other HR and benefits-related duties and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in benefits analysis, design, and/or benefits administration.
  • Experience with HRIS and Benefits Administration systems.
  • Experience designing and creating reports and analytics.
  • Experience working in a multi-state and multi-site environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables, queries, advanced functions).
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail demonstrated through prior work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, and related recordkeeping provisions.
  • General understanding of accounting principles and experience with insurance billing reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments concurrently, with a focus on accuracy and deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, with a commitment to collaboration and cross-functional work.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk short distances.
  • Ability to conduct work using a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with UKG Pro and Plan Source Benefits Administration systems and related HRIS systems.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics, or equivalent business reporting systems.
  • Experience analyzing financial and payroll records.
