About The Position

As our Benefits Administrator, you’ll play a key role in supporting employees and retirees through some of their most important life moments. You’ll oversee our COBRA and Retiree Direct Billing programs while managing a wide range of benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and leave programs. In this role, you’ll ensure our processes remain compliant, our data stays accurate, and our employees receive clear, compassionate guidance as they navigate their benefit options. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of related benefits administration experience
  • Solid understanding of HR and benefits processes, including life‑cycle events, enrollment rules, and how benefits interact with payroll.
  • Familiarity with COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits systems
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time‑management abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering COBRA and retiree direct‑bill programs.
  • BenefitFocus experience
  • Prior work in a multi‑site manufacturing organization.
  • Experience with Employee Central, SAP, or integrated enterprise HR systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills that support comparing datasets, identifying discrepancies, or streamlining processes.
  • A track record of recommending or implementing process improvements.
  • Comfort navigating multiple systems (HRIS, vendor portals, ServiceNow).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration of COBRA and Retiree Direct Billing, partnering closely with the third‑party vendor to ensure accurate notifications, enrollments, billing, and retiree support.
  • Manage benefit offboarding for departing employees, ensuring coverage end dates are correct and COBRA information is distributed.
  • Provide day‑to‑day administration of active employee benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and other plans.
  • Support employees and retirees by answering questions, researching issues, and delivering clear guidance on benefit options and life‑event changes.
  • Maintain regular communication with benefit vendors to resolve coverage discrepancies, share data, and ensure compliance.
  • Manage benefit enrollments and audits in HRIS systems (Benefitfocus + EC/Pay).
  • Support open enrollment through communications, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct data audits and reconcile monthly vendor invoices.
  • Prepare reporting on enrollments, terminations, COBRA activity, and benefit utilization trends.
  • Work closely with a supportive benefits team that meets bi‑weekly and collaborates heavily through Teams.
