Our HR team plays a vital role in protecting our people and we’re looking for a detail-obsessed Benefits Administration Specialist to join us. The Benefits Administration Specialist role is built for someone who takes precision seriously. You will own the accuracy of employee benefit enrollments, eligibility tracking, billing reconciliation, and compliance administration for our employee benefit programs. You’ll work directly under the Employee Benefits Manager and serve as a critical line of defense against financial and compliance risk. Requirements

  • College degree OR 3+ years of experience in an administrative, human resources, or insurance environment.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits administration and HRIS systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills — filters, comparisons, data validation, and audit functions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated auditing mindset.
  • Ability to reconcile data across multiple systems and sources with minimal error.
  • Professional handling of confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Clear, thorough documentation and record-keeping practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance broker experience — candidates with brokerage backgrounds bring a distinct advantage in carrier relationships, plan mechanics, and billing processes.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Process all benefit enrollments, terminations, and life-event changes accurately in HRIS and benefits systems — aligned to plan rules and effective dates.
  • Perform monthly carrier invoice reconciliations, comparing enrollment files, HRIS data, payroll deductions, and carrier invoices to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of benefits data to ensure system records, payroll deductions, and carrier files remain aligned at all times.
  • Support Open Enrollment execution with an emphasis on accuracy — auditing post-enrollment data for correctness before submission.
  • Serve as the primary employee contact for benefits inquiries, investigating issues with data and documentation rather than assumptions.
  • Execute administrative compliance tasks related to ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and Section 125 under established procedures.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliation logs and documentation to support internal and external audits.
  • Escalate compliance risks, billing anomalies, or high-risk matters appropriately and promptly.
