About The Position

Job Summary: The Benefit and Sales Consultant is responsible for providing a thorough explanation of applicable benefit products at the time of enrollment and assisting with the administration/enrollment of all employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and worksite products. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are some of the duties that may be assigned and may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job duties Provide a range of advice on selecting, purchasing and utilizing benefits Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Interact with and educate potential and existing clients in the products that best suit their needs Assess client needs and recommend employee benefits, life and living benefits, and assist clients in planning and implementation of product solutions.

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly excel
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to learn and operate enrollment software
  • Two years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration
  • Current licensed life and health insurance agent preferred; if not licensed, must be able to obtain life and health licenses prior to employment or within 60 days of employment
  • Prior customer service experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in HR or related field, or experience, training/certification
  • Daily online attendance required in remote work environment during normal business working hours
  • In-person and/or hybrid attendance occasionally required for company and/or team meetings
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • Core business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but the employee’s schedules are at the discretion of the supervisor and dependent on the needs of the business.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected
  • Travel locations may vary and may include Local, out of area and overnight assignments
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • While performing the duties of this job this individual is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, sit, talk, hear, use their hands and fingers (manual dexterity), use a telephone, and occasionally lift and /or move up to fifteen pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to solve problems, make decisions, supervise others, interpret data, organize information, written and oral communication and read/write.
