Position Summary A Bench Technician is considered an in-house service/repair technician. The Bench Technician performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at an established company repair site or service center. The equipment varies from communication hardware to lottery point of sale and vending equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures. Perform maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products, as well as inventory tracking. General warehouse duties, including inventory, shipping, and forklift operation, may also be a portion of the work. Oral and written communication, as well as hands-on work with field-based technicians for details regarding diagnostics or repairs. Assist in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Assist in the training of new and existing team members. Assist with the creation of presentations/reports regarding bench and equipment activities, issues, and performance. Some travel to customer locations for on-site work is possible. Performs these functions and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • An understanding of, and experience with, troubleshooting computer software and hardware technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Promptly respond to customer/leadership requests and feedback.
  • Proven self-starter with motivation and ability.
  • Organization and time management skills that enable effective multitasking.
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills to determine most cost-effective repair/resolution.
  • Available to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift, install and move large self-service equipment (regularly lift or move 35 pounds or more).
  • Able to travel overnight if needed.
  • Ability to drive a non-CDL delivery truck.
  • Pass background check, DOT certification and drug test.
  • Pass a background check, drug test, and have a clean driving record.
