About The Position

Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, the Belt Slitter will be responsible for resizing abrasives according to customer specifications, or all of the various duties and tasks in the Belt department.

Requirements

Must demonstrate mechanical inclination.
Can proficiently read rulers.
Must have full operating knowledge of machine set up.
Knowledge of safety procedures related to operating machinery and handling materials.
Ability to use thinking or reasoning to solve a problem.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in measurements and cuts.
Strong communication skills to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Review of production orders and/or specifications to determine setting requirements for roll slitting machines.
Measure dimensions of abrasive rolls to verify conformance to specifications.
Conduct test runs of production equipment.
Perform routine maintenance on slitting machine.
Keep accurate records of production output.
Must meet or exceed average daily production rates.
Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Maintain a professional, clean and safe work area.
Other related duties as assigned.
