About The Position

Primarily responsible for the supervision of all bell desk staff, activities, and also upkeeping of the desk area. The bell captain is responsible for welcoming all guests to the hotel as well as bidding them a fond farewell. The Bell Supervisor should make sure all luggage, letter, courier, and message movements are tracked and accounted for. Must adhere to hotel standard operating standards at all times and also communicate with Front Desk Manager to increase the efficiency of Bell stand/Bell Desk by preparing timely reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Property Management Software.
  • At least 2 years previous experience as Bell Captain or in a hospitality Supervisor position preferred
  • Previous experience working within a 4-star/Luxury hotel environment required.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s Licenses

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional guest service to both external and internal guests by maintaining and exhibiting the Casino Resort We-Ko-Pa Way Service Standards: Smile and Greet, Name and Meet, Thank you and Goodbye.
  • Ensures the bell desk is manned at all times.
  • Keeps working area, clean and tidy always.
  • Ensures smooth and fast baggage handling for all arriving/departing guests.
  • Maintain close relationships with reception/information/cashier as well as other departments.
  • Attending all guest calls for Bell stand/Door Services related services.
  • Delegate Bellman to pick up the baggage from guest rooms.
  • Errand cards are filled in for all baggage movements (Check-in, Check-out, Left luggage, etc.)
  • Performs follow-up calls to guests to verify complete satisfaction of any requests.
  • All guest requests are logged on to the guest request tracker.
  • Checks the inventory of items on loan, and ensures all items are collected at the time of, on, or before checkout.
  • Ensures all baggage movements are tagged and recorded.
  • Updates luggage movement register and sign off daily.
  • Ensures left luggage forms are filled and duly signed by the guest and also all applicable policies are explained to the guest.
  • Ensures guest messages are distributed properly and accurately.
  • Ensures guest and other department’s letters, and couriers are distributed properly and accurately.
  • Ensures that all bills are paid, and room keys returned before guests depart from the hotel premises.
  • Ensures that hotel shuttle bus service and airport transfer are carried out smoothly and properly.
  • Orders required newspaper for next day and monitors delivery of newspapers to each occupied guest room.
  • Helps observe safety and security rules at all times.
  • Alert the management of any unattended packages and strangers found on the premises.
  • Checks the daily arrival list for VIP's or guests with special needs.
  • Prepares for group movements and ensures enough staffing is in place to handle groups.
  • Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome, and anticipate their needs before they arise.
  • Recognize all returning and VIP guests and welcome them back.
  • Helps the Guest Service team in escorting guests to and from their accommodations and also orienting them with the property features, facilities, and in-room equipment.
  • Informs guests about all hotel and guest room features, hotel facilities, and emergency procedures.
  • Assist guests with their luggage and try to acknowledge them by name.
  • Makes deliveries to guest rooms as instructed.
  • Store and retrieve luggage and other objects for guests.
  • Be aware of daily hotel activities, and group and VIP arrivals.
  • Communicate special guest requests to the assistant with Front Office Manager/Manager on Duty.
  • Ensures that the lobby, bell closet, and work areas including departmental equipment are clean and presentable at all times.
  • Assist the security team in scanning all guest luggage.
  • Offer assistance to all guests at all times.
  • Provide efficient luggage storage, delivery, and collection service.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be flexible to work a variety of early and late shifts.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. and push or pull 100 pounds. Will be required to stand for long periods.
  • Perform any other work as and when assigned by the management.
