About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a professional and dependable Bell Staff team member to join our Guest Services department. This highly visible, guest-facing role is responsible for creating a memorable arrival and departure experience through warm, attentive, and efficient service. The ideal candidate is polished, personable, and proactive, with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction. This position requires flexibility, including weekends, holidays, occasional overnight shifts, and overtime as business needs dictate.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Availability for shifts between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM is required, with the ability to work overnight shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and provide a current driving record with 0 or more points.
  • Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred, especially in a luxury or high-volume environment.
  • Must maintain a neat, well-groomed, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional, personalized service.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport luggage safely throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including time outdoors while assisting with vehicles.
  • Calm and composed under pressure, particularly during peak arrival and departure times.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist arriving and departing guests with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency.
  • Escort guests to the front desk or guest rooms while safely transporting and delivering luggage.
  • Acquaint guests with hotel amenities, dining outlets, and services, including restaurant hours and notable details about the hotel’s history.
  • Provide accurate directions and personalized recommendations for on-property and local experiences.
  • Assist with parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
  • Safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Maintain awareness of guest activity in and around the lobby to ensure proactive service.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Participate in training for overnight coverage and assist during overnight shifts as required.
  • Uphold The Jefferson Hotel’s service standards in all guest interactions.
