About The Position

Sterling Montessori is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Support Assistant (BSA) to join our Exceptional Children Department and make a meaningful impact on K-8 students’ learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations, special education compliance, and public school policies.
  • Experience working with K-8 students, particularly those with exceptional needs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • CPI certification or willing to obtain certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • Montessori Training and experience in a Montessori setting.

Responsibilities

  • Implement IEP learning objectives through small-group, individual, and whole-class instruction.
  • Execute behavior management plans in collaboration with the Behavior Support Specialist.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Adapt curriculum and utilize alternative teaching techniques to meet student needs.
  • Communicate student progress effectively with parents, staff, and school administration.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to enhance student learning.
