About The Position

Sterling Montessori is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Support Assistant (BSA) to join our Exceptional Children Department and make a meaningful impact on K-8 students’ learning experiences.

Requirements

Knowledge of IDEA regulations, special education compliance, and public school policies.
Experience working with K-8 students, particularly those with exceptional needs.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
CPI certification or willing to obtain certification.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
Montessori Training and experience in a Montessori setting.

Responsibilities

Implement IEP learning objectives through small-group, individual, and whole-class instruction.
Execute behavior management plans in collaboration with the Behavior Support Specialist.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Adapt curriculum and utilize alternative teaching techniques to meet student needs.
Communicate student progress effectively with parents, staff, and school administration.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to enhance student learning.
