About The Position

Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking caring and compassionate Behavioral Health Workers to join our clinical teams! Available Hours: Monday, Thursday, 3pm - 11:30pm & Friday, Saturday, 2pm - 10:30pm (32 hours/week) OR Monday, Thursday - Sunday, 7am - 3:30pm (+$3 schedule premium) Midwest Center for Youth and Families (a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. The Patriot Support Program at Midwest Center offers specialized treatment designed to address the behavioral health needs and challenges of the children of active-duty military, reserve, and national guard members. Participates in patient activities and provides for patient safety.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Prefer one year of experience working in a psychiatric setting with patients aged 10 -18yrs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ongoing assessment of the safety & emotional needs of each patient
  • Implement elements of treatment plan and identified interventions to provide quality care
  • follow clinical and unit programming, documentation as required
  • DBT skills coaching with patients
  • basic group facilitation
