About The Position

This Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) position is located at Texas Health Plano's Behavioral Health Seay Center. It is a PRN (as needed) role, specifically for weekends, requiring two weekends per month (either two full Saturday/Sunday shifts or four Saturdays or four Sundays). The Behavioral Health Seay Center offers self-scheduling to support work/life balance, a collaborative work environment, a strong team, a robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and engaged leadership. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is a 366-bed, Magnet-designated hospital and a recognized clinical leader, providing advanced care to Plano, Frisco, and surrounding communities since 1991. It is a full-service facility with a wide range of specialties, including emergency medicine, cardiology, adult and adolescent behavioral health, pediatrics, an adult intensive care unit, and technologically advanced surgical services. The hospital is an Advanced Level III Trauma Facility, an accredited Chest Pain Center, and an Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Counseling or Social Work required
  • LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker Upon Hire required Or LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker Upon Hire required Or LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire required Or LPC-A - Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Upon Hire required Or LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Upon Hire required Or LMFT-A - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Upon Hire required
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 6 Months required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 30 Days required
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 12 Months required

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of healthcare related Counseling or Social Work preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy and counseling
  • Conducts unstructured individual, family, and group therapy as scheduled or ordered by physician to address goals identified on patient treatment plan
  • Provides didactic group therapy as scheduled and assigned
  • Adapts treatment to reflect age-specific, developmental, and cultural considerations
  • Demonstrates competence with adolescent treatment
  • Demonstrates competency with cognitive behavioral therapy
