About The Position

As a Behavioral Health Therapist on our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate mental health care to children, adolescents, and families. You will apply advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, diagnostic interviewing, assessment, and treatment planning to support patients across a wide range of needs, including depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Your work will directly impact patient outcomes by helping individuals stabilize, build coping skills, and improve overall well-being. You will be a key clinician within our newly launched Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Pediatric Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), designed to ensure timely access to care and appropriate triage based on clinical severity. A core program goal is rapid engagement, with patients evaluated and seen within 48 hours. You will provide evidence-based group, individual, and family therapy in a structured, collaborative environment that supports both clinical excellence and professional growth. This role is ideal for a therapist who thrives in a dynamic, team-based setting and is passionate about making a meaningful difference in pediatric behavioral health. Services are delivered in a newly renovated space within Children’s Rehabilitation, offering an opportunity to help shape innovative programming while working alongside dedicated multidisciplinary professionals committed to high-quality, patient-centered care. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday/Days/8:00am—5:00pm/no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with no record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports
  • Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients
  • A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on PC; normal or corrected vision; extensive sitting and frequent walking; occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments and treatment plans to patients.
  • Provide individual, group, family and crisis counseling.
  • Utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessments based on interdisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Consult with team members, statutory/voluntary agencies and relatives to ensure compliance with the patient treatment plan.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Educate and provide resources to patients and families.
  • Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers, students or interns.
  • Process paperwork and complete clinical documentation.
