What You’ll Do (aka how you’ll make an impact every day) As a BHT, you’ll support clients through their recovery journey by helping create a safe, structured, and supportive environment. You’ll work closely with our operations, clinical, and medical teams to ensure clients feel supported, respected, and cared for. This role is fast-paced, people-focused, and incredibly rewarding.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years old
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a Background Check, Drug Screen, and TB Test

Nice To Haves

  • A general understanding of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and professional boundaries.
  • Exposure to recovery support models like AA, NA, or SMART Recovery.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Respect for cultural, religious, and individual differences.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients during admissions and intakes (yes, including urine screens and belongings searches, important work, done with dignity).
  • Monitoring and documenting vital signs per state and clinical guidelines.
  • Supporting detox and withdrawal management through routine monitoring.
  • Providing safe transportation to appointments, meetings, and approved outings.
  • Assisting with crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation when needed.
  • Encouraging healthy routines and helping maintain clean, welcoming shared spaces.
  • Supporting groups, activities, community meetings, and outings.
  • Observing, documenting, and reporting any behavioral or mental health concerns.
  • Completing required documentation accurately and on time (HIPAA matters here).
  • Attending trainings, meetings, and continuing education.
  • Jumping in where needed, because teamwork is everything.
