Behavioral Health Technician - Overnights

What You’ll Do (aka how you’ll make an impact every day) As a BHT, you’ll support clients through their recovery journey by helping create a safe, structured, and supportive environment. You’ll work closely with our operations, clinical, and medical teams to ensure clients feel supported, respected, and cared for. This role is fast-paced, people-focused, and incredibly rewarding.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years old
- Valid Driver’s License
- CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a Background Check, Drug Screen, and TB Test
Nice To Haves
- A general understanding of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and professional boundaries.
- Exposure to recovery support models like AA, NA, or SMART Recovery.
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Respect for cultural, religious, and individual differences.
Responsibilities
- Supporting clients during admissions and intakes (yes, including urine screens and belongings searches, important work, done with dignity).
- Monitoring and documenting vital signs per state and clinical guidelines.
- Supporting detox and withdrawal management through routine monitoring.
- Providing safe transportation to appointments, meetings, and approved outings.
- Assisting with crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation when needed.
- Encouraging healthy routines and helping maintain clean, welcoming shared spaces.
- Supporting groups, activities, community meetings, and outings.
- Observing, documenting, and reporting any behavioral or mental health concerns.
- Completing required documentation accurately and on time (HIPAA matters here).
- Attending trainings, meetings, and continuing education.
- Jumping in where needed, because teamwork is everything.
