Aurora Behavioral Health System is a Level 1, acute care psychiatric facility in Tempe, licensed to treat both adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our dedicated inpatient team. In this role, you will work closely with Registered Nurses to support patient care and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or verifiable equivalent
- Ability to remain composed and supportive in high‑stress situations
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Conflict resolution abilities
- Organized, self‑motivated, and able to set priorities
- Respectful, empathetic, and patient‑centered approach
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical
- Must be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card
Responsibilities
- Assist RNs with patient care and activities of daily living
- Participate in shift rounds and contribute to treatment planning
- Support crisis intervention efforts and gather essential patient information
- Lead or assist with therapeutic groups and activities as assigned
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for patients
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
