About The Position

In this essential role, you’ll provide direct care and emotional support to patients in a therapeutic behavioral health setting. Similar to a nursing assistant, you’ll help ensure a safe, comforting environment where patients feel supported and respected.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Possess or obtain CPR/AED certification within 60 days of hire
• Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
• MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or two years of college preferred
• Nurse Aide experience with preference for experience as a Mental Health Technician on an inpatient psychiatric unit or previous psychiatric unit

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients in a manner that considers safety, comfort in the behavioral health therapeutic environment.
• Builds healthy, supportive patient relationships and practices effective interpersonal skills at all times.
• Completes clinical reports and documentation in a professional and timely manner.
