We have both inpatient and ambulatory spaces as well as a Level 1 trauma Emergency Department designated to children. Scope of work The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a role that provides and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient requiring direct observation. Working under the delegation of the Bedside RN, the BHT collaborates with the Nurse, Behavioral Health team, MSW, and the Medical Team to upload the established behavioral plan for the patient. The BHT is trained in verbal de-escalation and situational awareness and provided education on the variety of patient populations encountered. The BHT is cross-trained to a limited scope of the Nursing Technician role to learn the skills and tasks of daily patient care and ADLs.
