About The Position

This is a temporary position established to support the Supervised Released Program during an employee’s leave of absence. The anticipated duration of the assignment is approximately one to three months. Based on organization needs and individual performance, there is potential for the position to transition into a permanent role. The Behavioral Health Supervisor is a member of the Behavioral Health Unit, working directly with the Treatment Services Program, an OASAS licensed 822 Outpatient Program. The Behavioral Health Supervisor has administrative oversight of the Treatment Services intake process and incoming Behavioral Health referrals, providing regular supervision to the Treatment Services Intake Coordinator and Behavioral Health Engagement Specialist, and serve as backup when necessary. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will manage administrative tasks in the unit, ensuring smooth daily operations, and offer general support to unit staff. The successful candidate will ensure intake protocols are followed, keeping the unit in compliance with agency and state regulations. Additionally, the Behavioral Health Supervisor will work with program leadership to provide data on contract deliverables and make recommendations on workflow development and revision. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential referral sources and with internal programs to facilitate linkage to care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of CASAC-T required
  • Experience with counseling substance use clients required.
  • Ability to work independently with off-site supervision required
  • Experience in dealing with either psychiatric issues, trauma or incarceration
  • Excellent client-engagement and counseling skills
  • Excellent clinical documentation and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in electronic health records

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Treatment Services department’s intake process, which includes assuming responsibility for the intake volume, enrollment volume, and no-show rate
  • Manage referral, outreach and reporting processes, including through HRA STARS
  • Track internal contract enrollments to support monthly reporting
  • Manage Queensboro Work Release program from referrals to billing and reporting
  • Provide regular supervision to the Intake Coordinator and Behavioral Health Engagement Specialist
  • Manage EHR enrollments and discharges
  • Assist with oversight of group services
  • Provide administrative support for the Treatment Services program, managing inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Conduct regular chart audits to monitor for Fortune and state agency compliance
  • Conduct TS Intakes when needed
  • Compose letters or correspondence for participants including enrollment letters, completion certificates, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with other Fortune staff members in the same and other programs/locations that share common client(s)
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and training materials, to keep in line with unit policies and procedures, revising when appropriate
  • Oversee onboarding and staff training in relation to the referral and intake process, EHR navigation and administrative tasks (such as group schedule changes and MetroCard reconciliation), including tracking training completion and attestations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external providers that will positively impact TS enrollment and contract deliverables
  • Perform other duties as assigned
