About The Position

The Behavioral Health Specialist I is a member of the collaborative care team located at ICHS’s School Based Health center. This position will work from an integrated behavioral health model, providing a broad spectrum of culturally appropriate services, including completing behavioral health assessments with standardized behavioral and health risk screenings, providing group, individual and family psychotherapy, help with case management, and make referrals to students with behavioral health/academic needs. Additional indirect services will include providing consultation services to the primary care providers and the school staff, consulting with psychiatry, making psychoeducational presentations to staff and students about behavioral health, and providing liaison services between school staff and primary care providers. This position is subject to meeting performance expectations and grant continuation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
  • Three (3) years’ experience working with individuals with a disability; the elderly, mothers and children, and/or other high risk groups.
  • Current and active credential as a Licensed Independent Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Fluency in English required

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience in a multicultural health care clinic and direct service experience with bilingual/bicultural patients preferred.
  • Additional fluency in other languages is valued.

Responsibilities
