About The Position

This position performs professional planning, administration, and coordination of behavioral health services and programs funded by Clark County through the local Mental Health Sales Tax, Liquor Profit and Excise Tax, Criminal Justice Treatment Account, and other funding sources as assigned. Key responsibilities include contract development and oversight to coordinate services with local nonprofit organizations to meet outcomes developed in accordance with local, state and federal requirements. Oversight includes program development, technical assistance, research and analysis, report writing and performance monitoring. This position primarily works with the general public and community-based service organizations for planning and oversight activities. Behavioral Health funds require reporting to the local community and to state and federal funding agencies about the use of funds and achieved outcomes. Data is used to identify community needs, program efficacy and progress toward key performance measurements. This position also conducts contract compliance reviews and participates in requests for proposal (RFP) procurement processes. The position is responsible to work with staff and providers to ensure programs are culturally proficient to meet the needs of a diverse population. This position participates in community outreach efforts and activities as a community partner/agent of the County. This position may be required to perform other duties, as assigned. The successful candidate will be hired at the Program Coordinator II level. This position reports to the Program Manager of Behavioral Health Services in the Department of Community Services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social service field and/or a combination of experience and specialized training which includes a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the assigned area.
  • All combinations of education, experience, and training that demonstrate the ability to perform the work will be considered.
  • The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check, as required by RCW 43.43.830.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of experience in public sector contract management, public funding administration, social service programs, grant administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health systems with a primary focus on nonclinical approaches in the areas of prevention, early intervention, recovery support, and/or other social service public funding sources and methods
  • Experience conducting organization standards monitoring
  • Experience providing complex technical assistance and implementing research-based best practices across continuums
  • Experience providing culturally aware facilitation and supporting coordination and integration of services
  • Knowledge of and/or experience providing direct services to people who are low-income, in need of behavioral health supports and/or homeless.
  • Strong understanding of Excel and/or other data management tools
  • Familiarity with the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and utilizing the data for analysis and tracking performance.
  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong analytical, research and written communication skills.
