About The Position

The Behavioral Health Outpatient Coordinator ensures the smooth, efficient, and professional operation of the outpatient behavioral health department while delivering a high standard of customer service and support. This role oversees daily office processes, non‑clinical outpatient staff, and program activities to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards. The Coordinator manages admissions, supports pre‑admission and assessment tracking, assists with charge reconciliation, and maintains schedules, documentation, and essential program tools. Serving as a key liaison for patients, families, referral sources, and payer partners, the Coordinator supports discharge planning, utilization review efforts, and financial processes to ensure service coverage and continuity of care. Through strong organization, communication, and customer‑service skills, the Coordinator enhances overall program operations and promotes an optimal patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Must have experience with clerical duties.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • CPR certification and Handle with Care within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience on an inpatient unit preferred.
